Personal Statement

Caring for children in their most vulnerable moments is both a profound responsibility and a great privilege. I chose pediatric anesthesiology because it allows me to be a steady, compassionate presence at a time when families are placing their deepest trust in a physician. A child arriving in the operating room is not just a patient—they are someone’s whole world. I never lose sight of that.

From the moment I started training in anesthesiology, I was drawn to the complexity and delicacy of pediatric care.  Whether managing a critically ill newborn, easing anxiety in a frightened toddler, or reassuring a parent in the pre-operative suite, I am reminded daily of why I entered medicine: to make people feel safe, supported, and seen.

Pediatric anesthesia is not just about providing safe care—it’s about advocacy, precision, empathy, and teamwork. It requires not only medical expertise, but emotional presence. I’m honored to be part of a field where I can blend those qualities in service of children and their families.

Every child I care for teaches me something—about resilience and fearlessness. That trust is sacred to me. And it’s why I approach every case with the same care and commitment I would want for my own family.
